The internet was supposed to be a space for ideas and collaboration, but these days, we’re encountering an overwhelming amount of hate online. There are very few safe online spaces to express ourselves without the threat of harassment targeting one’s faith, identity, sexual orientation, or race. According to the ADL Center for Technology and Society’s latest report, people targeted by online hate have very few resources to access for help. Platforms like Facebook and Instagram do not have efficient systems set up to support victims of hate, filter hateful content, or ban repeat abusers. Even in severe cases of online harassment like stalking, social media platforms do not allow victims to talk to an actual human being. Tech companies must do more to protect us from hate.

We need you to urge Facebook to prioritize the online community's safety. There are simple steps Meta can take to put people over profits and reduce online hate.
